How is the district monitoring Coronavirus?
District 70 Administration is committed to ensuring our school remains a safe and healthy place for all students, staff, and families. Administration continues to be in contact with health experts from the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) and The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). These organizations provide daily updates, resources, and threat assessments specifically for schools. Additionally, the administration is working closely with many other school districts in Lake and Cook counties to share information and resources.
Is it safe to come to school?
As of March 9th, the IDPH and the CDC advise that the risk of exposure remains low for the general public. These agencies have reported that people should “go about their lives” including going to school. If this changes or the risk becomes greater, we will notify families IMMEDIATELY.
What is the school district doing to help prevent the spread of Coronavirus and other contagious illnesses?
District administration is working closely with our cleaning company to ensure all areas of the school and frequently touched surfaces and objects are disinfected daily. Additionally, we will continue to encourage the recommended preventive actions from the CDC throughout the school day.
